Evidence practice
Good evidence keeps its context.

Capture more than a screenshot
Record the transaction identifier, network, relevant addresses, date, time and source. Preserve an export or the full record where practical, alongside screenshots showing context. Note when and how each item was obtained. A screenshot can be useful but may omit information needed for later verification.
Keep an untouched original
Retain material as collected and make a separate working copy for annotations or conversion. Keep relevant correspondence and collection notes linked to the transaction. Record who collected, accessed or transferred the material, and when. Documented handling helps another reviewer understand how the evidence reached them.
Protect the material
Use access-controlled storage and a separate backup. Avoid unnecessary disclosure of personal information, and never include seed phrases, private keys or passwords. File checksums can help detect changes to a stored copy, but they do not prove the original was accurate or complete. These are general information practices, not a guarantee of legal admissibility.
